Release Notes – Futura Time Lapse

Release date: March the 31st, 2025 

  • New features:
    • User can now also create a video with the non-aligned images
  • Improvements of existing rules and features:
    • Better algorithm to suppress some little jittering remaining after the alignment
    • Faster preparation of the time lapse
    • Process moves automatically to the next step when the cropping is done
    • The app can now align images with major shifts between them
  • Bugs fixed:
    • If a video file already existed with the same name, the application was freezing.
    • If the use was selecting only the video 16:9, the app was freezing.
    • Fixed a bug during the creation of videos of cropped images

This is a major release proposing a totally new experience, and several new important features.

  • New features:
    • Alignment methods extended to 2 translations only, 2 translations + 1 rotation, or 2 translations and 3 rotations
    • User can now generate a video right after the alignment, the cropping and a cropping to 16:9
    • Futura Tine Lapse defines a recommended method for the alignment of images
    • New UI
    • User can now choose which parts of the image will be the reference for aligning the others
    • Improved alignment algorithm for several corner cases
    • JPG and Jpeg files are also recognised (only JPG files were detected so far)
    • Bell is ringing when alignment and cropping tasks are completed

    • Can align JPG files generated by LRT
    • Images can be cropped after the alignment to remove the black margins
  • Improvements of existing rules and features:
    • Fixed corner cases where static patches where too close to each others (same fix as in Futura Photo)
